Snow threat to Kempton
Tomorrow’s meeting at Kempton on the all-weather track is subject to an 8am inspection due to the threat of snow.
Up to 10 centimetres of snow is forecast overnight which could cause obvious problems.
“We’ve called the inspection due to the advanced weather warning,” said clerk of the course Barney Clifford.
“I felt it was prudent because it is snow. It is all areas of the course that are the issue, not just the track.
“We can send the snow plough round at 6am to get ride of all the snow by 8am which gives us plenty of time because it is a massive procedure.
“It’s a prudent measure and we would race today but we’ll have to see what happens overnight.”
