Mark Johnston's Marie De Medici ran a fine race to dead-heat for second behind Barouda in the Group Three Prix Des Reservoirs - Haras D'Etreham at Deauville.

The juvenile cut out much of the running under Joe Fanning but had no answer to the finishing kick of Jean-Marie Beguigne's filly, who passed the post half a length to the good.

Marie De Medici had to share the runner-up spot as Ayun Tara, chasing her fourth successive win, finished strongly to join her on the line.
