Lynam to run Senior at the Curragh

Edward Lynam has decided to run Senior in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday following his fine performance in the National Stakes.

The son of Medicean was fifth of six behind Kingsfort but was only beaten three and a half lengths by the winner.

Lynam believes the extra furlong and the better ground this time will all be in his favour.

“We were going to put him away but he’s jumping out of his skin, so we are going to let him take his chance,” said the County Meath trainer.

“He’s in very good form and we’re hopeful of a good run.

“He’s come out of it particularly well, so we are going to roll the dice and let him run.

“It’s a good race – there are a couple of Aidan O’Brien horses in there.

“We hope the trip will suit him more and the ground should be perfect for him.”
