Ger Lyons is keen to step Love Lockdown up in trip after his impressive victory in the Sirenia Stakes at Kempton on Saturday.

A winner of four of his seven starts this season, he has only once been out of the first three.

Lyons said: “I’ve always been thinking that I want to see him over the seven (furlongs), so I’m scouring through the programme book as I didn’t put him in any of the early-closing races.

“There is a Listed race at Dundalk at the end of the season, depending on the penalties he’ll get, but he has done enough for the year.

“He’s a horse I think the world of. Everybody put a line through him because he ran such a poor race in the Railway Stakes but that was on horrible ground.

“The Curragh this year has been really bad ground and my horses just haven’t been able to handle it but unfortunately all the good races are there.

“With the weather we have been having in Ireland this year it’s been terrible, but when the horses are as good as Love Lockdown we’ll travel with them.”
