Hughes injury confirmed
Brian Hughes faces about three weeks on the sidelines after breaking his collarbone in a nasty tumble at Sedgefield on Tuesday.
The jump jockey sustained the injury when the Alan Swinbank-trained Itsallyours Al suffered a fatal fall at the third-last flight in the John Wade Waste Recycling Selling Handicap Hurdle.
Hughes was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees for precautionary X-rays which confirmed the damage.
“He’s broken his collarbone,” confirmed his agent Richard Hales.
“They mentioned they might pin it but I’m not sure if they have or not.
“Basically, he’ll be out for about three weeks.”
