Perth abandon today's race card
This afternoon’s meeting at Perth has been abandoned due to waterlogging.
The Scottish course was hit by 20 millimetres of overnight rain, which left the situation untenable.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said: “We’ve sadly drawn stumps.
“Even if we moved all the bends, the approaches would not be safe for racing.
“It’s desperately disappointing, and is certainly not what you’d expect in the summer.
“We had horrendous rain after yesterday’s fixture – on top of the 5mm of rain which fell during the meeting.
“The problem is that rain has fallen onto ground opened up by the runners and there are footings of waterlogging.”
