Nideeb snatches Huggies Winkfield Stakes
Nideeb continued Clive Brittain's exceptional run with his two-year-olds this season by grasping the Huggies Winkfield Stakes away from Party Doctor.
Richard Kingscote and Party Doctor (9-4) had first run in the Listed race but Ryan Moore showed just why he is champion jockey and forced Yarmouth maiden winner Nideeb in front by a nose at the post.
“This horse has a tremendous action but he’s still a frame and he’ll have a break now,” Brittain said of the 11-2 chance.
“The Royal Lodge is certainly on the cards.”
Tom Dascombe, trainer of the runner-up, said: “When you’re nine lengths clear of the rest it’s tough to be beaten by a nose. He must be about the best maiden in the country now and will go to the Acomb at York.”
