Holland appeal dismissed
Darryll Holland will miss the Derby meeting after he lost an appeal against a 21-day ban given to him at Warwick last Saturday.
The rider will sit on the sidelines from Saturday May 23 to Friday June 12 inclusive.
The disciplinary panel of the British Horseracing Authority met today to hear evidence from Holland, who was legally represented, and viewed video recordings of the race.
The local stewards looked into Holland’s riding of the Mick Channon-trained Gold Maha in the PSA Peugeot Citroen Long Service Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, in which his mount finished fourth, beaten a neck for third, and ruled he had failed to ride out for third place and that he was in breach of Rule 156, a second offence for Holland under the rule in the last 12 months.
Holland did, however, have his deposit returned following the hearing.
