Arazan will miss the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas a week on Saturday due to a temperature.

Trainer John Oxx, winner of the Newmarket version with Sea The Stars, saved Arazan for the Curragh for more suitable ground, but he is not pleasing with his general well-being.

Oxx’s wife, Caitriona, said: “He won’t be running, unfortunately, but these things happen with horses.

“He is out of sorts and has a temperature but, hopefully, he will recover and be back among the fray soon.”

Arazan, who won the Futurity Stakes before finishing third to Mastercraftsman on his final start in the National Stakes, was 4-1 joint-second favourite with Irish bookmakers Cashmans.
