Kempton ready to welcome Denman
Kempton will be the stage for the eagerly-awaited reappearance of Denman in the rescheduled Aon Chase, to be known as the Levy Board Chase tomorrow.
Hopes are high that the Sunbury track will be able to beat the weather despite the abandonment of todayâs fixture because of snow.
The card has been transferred to tomorrow with the addition of the Levy Board Chase at 2.50pm, making it an eight-race programme.
An inspection will be held at 8am tomorrow but officials remain excited and upbeat.
âThe snow has turned to sleet and rain. This morning we took the covers off, the snow was falling and it was standing on the track so we had no choice but to knock todayâs meeting on the head,â said clerk of the course Barney Clifford.
âWe put the covers back on, the track is completely covered up and thereâs an inspection in the morning.
âWeâve got frost forecast for tonight, but I would say our prospects of racing tomorrow are very good. The covers are on, frost only down to minus two, that shouldnât be a problem. With a little bit of luck we should be fine.â
