Ludlow meeting abandoned early

Officials at Ludlow have been forced to abandon Wednesday’s meeting with the track currently covered in snow.

The course was hit by a substantial amount of snow on Monday and further snow overnight as left clerk of the course Bob Davies with little option but to call off proceedings.

“We have got five and a half inches of snow on the track at the moment and there is further snow showers and frost forecast,” said Davies.

“We have some drifts in places on the course as well and as the temperatures only forecast to get up to around plus one, it is not going to thaw full stop.”
