Mr Thriller delights at Fontwell
Mr Thriller made it two from two for the David Pipe yard by overcoming a howler at the second-last to take the Docker Hughes Memorial Novices' Hurdle at Fontwell.
The French import made a pleasing debut at Bangor and the 6-4 chance followed up under Tom Scudamore by denying even-money favourite Stow by 12 lengths in the testing conditions.
Scudamore said: "He has obviously got the trip and handled the ground, but whether Stow has ran up to his best remains to be seen.
"He was brave after making the mistake and it didn't stop his momentum, and he jumped the last well.
"He is owned by Joe Moran who also has Pablo Du Charmil so he has a nice couple of horses to go to war with, but I'll leave plans up to David."
Mr Thriller was cut to 25-1 from 40-1 by Cashmans for the JCB Triumph Hurdle.
Tullamore Dew stayed on best of all to capture the EBF Moorcroft Racehorse Centre mrwc.org.uk "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle as Tony McCoy faded to third on 4-6 favourite Burton Point to remain marooned on 2,998 career wins over jumps.
The 9-2 chance led at the last under Jay Pemberton and pulled away from his rivals to provide Nick Gifford with a welcome win after he lost Killaghy Castle in a fatal fall at Sandown on Saturday.
Gifford said: "The EBF final has always been the target for this horse and that will probably be his next race.
"I have to give credit to Jay for this win as he rides him out at home and has settled him down.
"He has proven that he can ride him in a race too, and will probably keep the ride."
Ultimate Limit had been off the track since October 2006 but his enforced absence proved no barrier to success as he obliged as the 3-1 favourite in the John Ireland Memorial Handicap Chase.
The nine-year-old was clearly well fancied by connections and provided Alan Fleming with a fifth wins as a trainer when collecting by eighth lengths.
Fleming said: "He has had plenty of niggly problems but they had him well handicapped for me.
"He had done plenty of work at home up our hill and has been easy to train.
"I hope he will be OK in the morning and he should get another win for us."
