Officials at Musselburgh remain “very optimistic” of racing going ahead tomorrow despite deciding to hold a precautionary inspection at 7am.

The course is raceable and no problems are anticipated, although temperatures could dip to zero overnight.

“The Met Office have revised their temperatures a couple of degrees. This morning they were saying we’d get down to plus but then they said it would get down to zero. That should not give us a problem,” said clerk of the course Anthea Morshead.

“It’s just if they revised them again by another couple of degrees. We were raceable today and are very optimistic.”
