There has been no contact today between the British Horseracing Authority and Great Leighs’ administrators Deloitte.

Racing’s regulators are still awaiting an application from them for a licence to race.

Deloitte were called in soon after the latest application by Britain’s newest racecourse – which opened last April – for an extension to a temporary licence was refused on Thursday evening.

“As it stands we have had no contact today from the administrators Deloitte, formal or otherwise,” said BHA communications manager Will Lambe.

The matter was discussed at the BHA’s monthly board meeting today, but no action was taken.

Thursday’s meeting scheduled for Great Leighs will be held at Kempton.
