Kelso hoping for racing tomorrow

Hopes are high that Kelso will able to stage the first National Hunt meeting since last Friday but tomorrow's meeting is still subject to an 8.30am inspection.

Hopes are high that Kelso will able to stage the first National Hunt meeting since last Friday but tomorrow's meeting is still subject to an 8.30am inspection.

Conditions are improving at the track and temperatures are due to rise during the day.

However, forecasts suggest it could get below freezing again tonight.

“We’ve called an inspection for 8.30am,” said clerk of the course Anthea Morshead.

“Conditions are improving, it was plus one last night and it is due to rise to plus five or six today. It might get to minus one tonight but tomorrow it will rise significantly".

“We’ve called an inspection and obviously we would prefer plus one to minus one tonight but the inspection just gives everyone a heads up as to where we are. We are not quite out of the woods just yet but we are hopeful.”
