Ludlow in doubt

Monday’s meeting at Ludlow is subject to an 8am inspection on Sunday.

The track has been hit by severe frost for the last three nights and with conditions unlikely to improve greatly over the weekend, clerk of the course Bob Davies is not optimistic.

“We are frozen at the moment and we had a minus six frost last night,” said Davies.

“We had minus four the night before and minus four again the night before that and while we have covers down on the worst areas, it is impossible for us to cover it all.

“We have another frost forecast tonight and temperatures may just get above freezing tomorrow before another frost Sunday night.

“Realistically if the weather forecast is right our chances are very, very slim.”
