Past back in action
Michael O’Brien is hopeful Forget The Past can overcome a lengthy absence with a bold show in the Wilf Dooly Chase at Tramore tomorrow.
The 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup third has not run since being pulled up in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse in March but O’Brien believes Forget The Past is fit enough to do himself justice in the Listed contest.
“He’s fine, there’s been nothing much wrong with him,” said the Naas-based handler.
“I’d think he has a good chance and the trip should be OK for him.”
A field of nine has been declared for the two-mile-five-furlong heat, including last year’s winner Knight Legend, trained by Jessica Harrington.
