No stopping Go at Punchestown
Go Native ran out an impressive winner of the INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle at Punchestown under a confident ride from Paul Carberry.
An impressive winner at Kilbeggan on his hurdling debut in July, the 7-2 chance did not look the easiest of rides when beaten into second at the Galway Festival.
However, Noel Meade’s charge easily coped with these far more testing conditions.
After ranging up to China Rock on the run to the final flight, he soon swept to the front and was a length and three-quarters to the good at the line.
Imaalhall stayed on strongly in the hands of Mark Walsh to take the Kimpton Vale Handicap Hurdle.
Francis Flood’s charge was sent off the 9-2 market leader, having scored at Down Royal over a month ago, and his supporters were counting their winnings as he went clear before the final flight.
He refused to let his rivals make any inroads on the run-in and only had to be kept up to his work to readily prevail from The Flying Dustman.
