Catterick fit for racing

This afternoon’s meeting at Catterick will go ahead as planned after the course passed a 7.45am inspection.

Course officials were expecting sub zero temperatures at the north Yorkshire venue but thankfully they failed to materialise.

“Racing goes ahead,” said clerk of the course Fiona Needham.

“The temperatures briefly dropped below freezing at around 9pm but then picked up again and we have no problems.

“The going is good.”
