New Approach triumphs at Newmarket
Epsom Derby winner New Approach has rounded off a spectacular season for Irish trained horses in England by landing the Group One Emirates Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
It was the second group one success for the Kevin Manning and Jim Bolger connection.
Aidan O'Brien trained Rip Van Winkle was the market leader for the other Group One race, the Dewhurst Stakes.
But it was taken by Jim Bolger's 20/1 outsider Intense Focus.
It is a hat trick of wins for Bolger in the race.
The opening Group II Victor Chandeler was taken by number 15 Stimulation the 9/2 joint favourite.
