Angus Newz is likely to have just a couple more starts before Mick Quinn bids farewell to his favourite mare.

Angus Newz is likely to have just a couple more starts before Mick Quinn bids farewell to his favourite mare.

At Chester last weekend, the five-year-old notched the Liverpudlian footballer-turned trainer's 100th career winner but she is to head to the sales for a breeding career at the end of the season.

Her game victory over favourite Look Busy in the Listed Henry Gee Fillies' Stakes at the Roodee was the 13th of her career.

"She'll be going to Newmarket on either October 2 or 3 for the Rous Stakes or the fillies' handicap she won last year," explained Quinn.

"Then she will have her last race in the Boadicea Stakes. She'll go to the sales and she ought to be worth quite a bit as a broodmare."
