Trainer Mick Channon has been discharged from hospital as he recuperates from injuries sustained in a car crash last week.

Channon has left The Park Hospital, a private unit in Nottingham, England, and has returned home.

The former England international footballer was last Wednesday involved in a motorway accident, in which his long-time friend, bloodstock agent and racehorse owner Tim Corby, died.

Channon suffered broken ribs, a broken arm, a fractured jaw and a punctured lung – but is now back at his home in Berkshire.

“Mick Channon has been released from Park Hospital today and is now settling back at West Ilsley,” confirmed a yard spokesman.
