Jessica Kurten took the runner-up spot in today's 1m 45 jump-off class at the three-star show in Den Haag, the Netherlands, this afternoon with Lady Georgina Forbes's eight year-old bay mare 'Myrtille Paulois'.

One of seven through to the final round from a startlist of 29, the Antrim-born rider was clear all the way, but local rider Mikael van der Vleuten beat her to the winner's enclosure by just over two seconds, riding 'VDL Groep Naomi'.

Earlier, 38 year-old Kurten took a fourth place in the Youngster Tour on Lady Moira Forbes's 'Naturel', with a single fence down in the jump- off.

In the final competition of the day, the Den Haag Grand Prix, the Irish rider fared less well with the eight year-old bay gelding 'Cakoa 2', retiring in the first round.
