Sunday Redcar meet abandoned

Heavy waterlogging has claimed Saturday evening’s meeting at Redcar.

Acting clerk of the course John Sanderson delivered the bad news following an 8.30am inspection.

“We have regrettably abandoned due to the state of the ground,” said Sanderson.

“The course had 4.5mm of rain on Thursday and another similar deposit has been forecast for today.

“The problem is that the track has not improved over the last 24 hours – it probably needs three or four days of good, drying conditions.”
