Trainer Evan Williams and jockey Christian Williams were both cleared of any breach of the rules following the running and riding of Zamboozle at Worcester last month.

The pair faced a disciplinary panel at the British Horseracing Authority after the stewards deemed them to have fallen foul of the rules regarding non-triers.

Running in the Home of Summer Jumping Selling Hurdle on July 2, Zamboozle finished eighth of 10 behind Arisea, beaten a total of 44 lengths, on his first start for the Welsh trainer.

Evan Williams said: "I'm just very happy. Obviously we were very angry at the time but it was one of those things and Christian and I could not wait to get the opportunity to explain ourselves properly.

"It is the worst thing in the world to be called a cheat and the panel listened to our explanations.

"Basically the horse is of very limited ability and the only way he can be ridden is to be held up.

"Christian rode him in accordance to my instructions and loyalty to him is important as I do think we live in a blame culture in this country.

"We were doing our best, as we always do."
