Fleeting Spirit to miss York
Fleeting Spirit, ante-post favourite for the Coolmore Nunthorpe, has been ruled out of next month's York event.
The three-year-old was as short as 9-2 with William Hill for the five-furlong Group One after finishing third in the King's Stand Stakes at Ascot on her most recent start.
Trainer Jeremy Noseda's yard was under a cloud at the time and has only recently undergone a revival after a virtual shutdown following the Royal meeting.
However, Fleeting Spirit is not yet back in top form and Noseda has shelved plans to run at York.
He said: "She wasn't right after Royal Ascot and has not yet bounced back in a manner in which I'd be happy to start off her preparations for the Nunthorpe.
"There's no plan. We will give her all the time in the world and she'll show us when she is ready again," he told www.jeremynoseda.com.
