Petara is George possibility
Terry Mills is considering allowing Petara Bay to tackle hot favourite Duke Of Marmalade in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week.
Mills’ Epsom yard has been churning out the winners of late and Petara Bay put up a career-best effort at Newmarket last week when flashing home to take third behind Lucarno in the Princess of Wales’s WBX.COM Stakes.
The four-year-old – who was a distant 15th behind Authorized in last year’s Derby – finished eighth to Duke Of Marmalade at Royal Ascot last time out.
Mills’ assistant Richard Ryan said: “He has a couple of options but is in the big race at Ascot and we are thinking about it.”
