Tamayuz wins Prix Jean Prat in France
A dream week for trainer Freddie Head and jockey Davy Bonilla continued at Chantilly as Tamayuz repelled the British raiders in the Prix Jean Prat.
The lightly-raced four-year-old hit the front around two furlongs out and stuck to his guns well to beat Raven’s Pass and the fast-finishing Rio De La Plata.
Cat Junior held on for fourth having thrown down a strong challenge to the winner, with Kandahar Run fifth and Winker Watson not disgraced in seventh.
A stewards’ inquiry was called but it did not look to concern the winner, who was handing Head and Bonilla another Group One success following on from Marchand D’Or in the July Cup on Friday.
