Ranger leads Railway runners

Royal Ascot juvenile form could be tested for the first time in the One 51 Railway Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

David Wachman’s Bushranger, second behind John Best’s Flashmans Papers in the Windsor Castle Stakes, and Jim Bolger’s Coventry second Intense Focus may lock horns.

Others among the 15-strong entry include Mick Channon’s Woolston Ferry and Brendan Duke’s unraced Kaiser Willie.

Aidan O’Brien has seven of the possibles with Mastercraftsman looking the pick at this stage.

Kevin Prendergast can chose between Alhaban and Vilasol, who have both won their maidens in impressive style already this season.

“If it changes to soft ground we’ll run Alhaban and if it doesn’t we’ll run Vilasol,” reported Prendergast.

“The form of Vilasol’s Leopardstown maiden has worked out well and a couple of winners were behind him.”
