Bolger shrugs off Derby criticism

Jim Bolger believes he was left in a “no-win situation” after deciding to run New Approach in the Vodafone Derby after all.

Bolger had indicated the ante-post favourite would not be prepared for the Epsom Classic at a media morning in April, prompting nearly all bookmakers to withdraw him from their markets.
