Jockey Ian Power remains under observation in hospital in Waterford following a horrible fall at Tramore last Friday.

The 27-year-old sustained head injuries in the accident and despite making a slight improvement over the weekend, is still in a serious but stable condition.

Dr Walter Halley, the Turf Club medical officer said: “Ian was moved into a normal ward on Sunday and regained consciousness but he will have to undergo a full neurological check-up in due course and the length of time for recovery remains to be seen.”
