Jockey Dobbs fails breath test
Pat Dobbs missed out on his two rides at Goodwood and a further five at Lingfield’s evening meeting after failing a racecourse breathalyser test prior to racing on the Sussex Downs.
The jockey was stood down for the day after the stewards found he had “provided a breath sample which was found to contain alcohol in a concentration above the threshold level for breath samples”.
The stewards referred the matter to the headquarters of the British Horseracing Authority in central London.
To rub salt into the wounds, Dobbs also missed out on a winner as Richard Mullen took over on the Marcus Tregoning-trained Formax to land the Goodwood Hospitality Handicap.
