Cool Tarifa takes Naas test
Cool Tarifa, winner of Ireland’s first two-year-old maiden of the season, will step up in company at Naas next Monday in the Group Three Cathal Ryan Memorial Swordlestown Stud Sprint Stakes.
Trainer James Burns would like to get this race out of the way before considering whether his filly is Royal Ascot material.
However, she was well-backed on her debut to enjoy a fluent length-and-a-half victory over Comadoir.
“The plan is definitely to run,” said Burns.
“She worked well this week but this race is the trial and I don’t want to look further ahead yet.”
Jim Bolger has five of the 15 entries for the six-furlong dash while there are potential British representatives in the Mick Channon-trained pair of Danidh Dubai and Moss Likely along with Kevin Ryan’s Undaunted Affair.
