Danehill Destiny has Beverley on radar

William Haggas could give his Queen Mary hopeful Danehill Destiny a prep run in the Hilary Needler Trophy at Beverley on May 28.

The speedy filly impressed many with her debut success at Newmarket’s Craven meeting when she won by two lengths.

Four individual winners have already come out of the race, leaving Haggas to plot a path to Royal Ascot.

“She’s fine, her form is working out well,” said the Newmarket handler.

“We were going to run her this weekend but she had a bit of a setback about 10 days ago but she is really thriving now.

“At Newmarket she had a coat like a sheep but now she is starting to blossom and she is doing really well.

“It’s not hugely important to run her before the Queen Mary but I would like to,” he told 'At The Races'.

“We are looking possibly at the Hilary Needler at Beverley but we will talk to the owners (Cheveley Park Stud) and see what they would like to do.

“The form is working out and she is obviously quite useful, it’s nice to have a two-year-old that can go a bit.”
