Kelso stage midday inspection
This evening’s fixture at Kelso is subject to the track passing an inspection at midday.
Although the course experienced a dry night, it has been bombarded with rain since early morning and ground conditions are now described as heavy.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said: “We’ve had 11 millimetres of rain since about 6.30am.
“It’s still raining now and the Met Office say it will be midday before this front clears.
“We should then have a dry spell before another two to eight millimetres of showers arrive.
“We’ve been dry overnight but it’s rained so hard in a short spell we will need to have a look at 12.
“By then we will know what we have and it’ll be the sort of time a lot of horses will be leaving, so it should help people if we look then.”
