Lee out of luck at Wetherby

Graham Lee was out of luck on his return to the saddle after nearly three months on the sidelines.

Ferdy Murphy’s stable jockey fractured his jaw in a fall at Huntingdon on February 7 and had three plates inserted to stabilise the injury.

Lee had been enjoying a productive season in the saddle and had reached the 89-winner mark before his fall on Cash King in a novice chase.

However, riding Spring Breeze and Earvee for his boss and Lusento for Micky Hammond, he failed to trouble the judge.

Warren Marston was handed a four-day ban by the stewards for using his whip with excessive force when winning the Coral North Wins With The Yorkshire Post Maiden Hurdle. He will sit out May 11 to 14 inclusive.

Denis O’Regan was handed a three-day ban for weighing out 3lb heavy on Tigerific in the Delia Shaw 60th Birthday Celebration Maiden Hurdle.

Lady amateur rider Jackie Kidd was handed a three-day ban for two separate offences for her ride on Painted Sky in the Cadale Lady Riders’ Handicap Hurdle.

She picked up one day for careless riding and two days for a whip offence with the dates to be notified by the British Horseracing Authority.
