Dettori set for Sixties Icon ride

Jeremy Noseda hopes Frankie Dettori will be available to ride Sixties Icon in the stanjamesuk.com Jockey Club Stakes on Sunday week.

Dettori partnered the son of Galileo to win the 2006 St Leger and was also in the plate to claim Newmarket’s upcoming event last term.

Sixties Icon disappointed twice afterwards, but Noseda is now confident his charge is back in good nick and liked what he saw in a recent Newmarket gallop.

“I was more than satisfied with Sixties Icon’s work. It was a nice, easy piece and he was relaxed, did everything right,” he told www.jeremynoseda.com.

“He has come out of it well and is on schedule for the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on May 4 when, hopefully, Frankie will be able to renew his (competitive) association with the horse.”
