Balding unfazed by Hall draw
Andrew Balding hopes a high draw will not be a disadvantage to Yeaman’s Hall in the William Hill Lincoln at Doncaster on Saturday.
The unexposed four-year-old is near to the stands rail in stall 21 in a field of 22 as the prestigious handicap over the straight mile returns to Town Moor for the first time since 2005.
“He’s lightly raced because he had a few problems midsummer last year,” said Balding.
“Each time he’s run he’s shown a good level of form and we’re very happy with him.
“The significance of the draw is going to be difficult to tell.
“Obviously it’s been redrained since, so it might make the statistics from previous Lincolns irrelevant.
“It doesn’t look a good draw on previous soft-ground Lincolns, but I’m very happy with the horse and hopeful of a big run.
“William Buick is good value for his 3lb and the ground shouldn’t be a problem.”
