Towcester 'very hopeful'

Tomorrow’s meeting at Towcester is subject to a 9.30am inspection due to the threat of frost.

Clerk of the course Robert Bellamy has called the check but remains hopeful the meeting will go ahead.

“We are perfectly raceable today and the overnight frost has come out of the ground,” said Bellamy.

“But it is forecast to be a bit colder tonight, as low as minus five or six, so we will need to have a look.

“If the temperatures rise as quickly as they have done today I’d be very hopeful.

“There is no point looking any earlier as I won’t know if the sun is having an effect or not so we will inspect at 9.30am.”
