Wincanton stage morning inspection

Saturday’s meeting at Wincanton is subject to a 7.00am precautionary inspection due to the threat of frost.

Overnight temperatures are due to drop to around minus-three degrees but with a sunny day forecast, officials are hopeful.

Clerk of the course Rebecca Morgan said: “The Met Office are saying we will get to plus five or six in the daytime and it is supposed to be a whole day of unbroken sunshine.

“We are very optimistic but with the forecast, we thought it prudent just to have a look.”
