Oso good for Candlish
Osolomio, a decent handicapper on the Flat for Alan Swinbank, got off the mark under National Hunt Rules on his second start over timber for Jennie Candlish at Chepstow.
The 20-1 chance had the measure of 10-11 favourite I Hear A Symphony jumping the final flight, only for the market leader to crash out on landing.
That left Alan O’Keeffe’s mount well clear and he went on to beat the staying-on Synchronised by five lengths in the Jenkinsons Caterers Welcome You To Chepstow Maiden Hurdle.
Candlish said: “That was a nice Valentine’s Day present!
“He lost 10 to 15 lengths at the start last time so I wasn’t too disappointed with his run that day and we know him better now.
“He is quirky and he probably wants better ground, but I thought this was a good race so I am ecstatic to win.”
