Inspectors give Musselburgh go-ahead

This afternoon’s meeting at Musselburgh goes ahead after the track passed a 7.30am inspection.

Although temperatures dropped below freezing overnight, clerk of the course Anthea Morshead is expecting a significant rise this morning.

She said: “We had a frost of minus three but looking at the charts, it was only below freezing from about 5am so it hasn’t really got hold of the ground.

“Temperatures are rising now and there is no fog or cloud so it should up to five degrees by noon and six degrees by 2pm.”

The going is good, good to firm in places.
