Fred takes Kempton honours

Having crossed swords with the likes of Five Dream and Palomar, Fredensborg appreciated a drop in class and sluiced up in the digibet Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at Kempton.

Carl Llewellyn’s seven-year-old was the only runner to attract support in the preliminaries and duly landed a domineering four-length success as the 15-8 favourite.

Owner Sir Robert Ogden’s racing manager Barry Simpson said: “The drop in class seemed to help and the form of his last couple of races is working out well.

“The cheekpieces have helped him to concentrate and this should be a good confidence-booster.”
