Limerick off, Kelso to check
Today's racing at Limerick has fallen foul of the weather and is cancelled due to a waterlogged track.
Meanwhile, Friday’s fixture at Kelso is subject to the track passing a precautionary inspection at 7.30am tomorrow morning.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead is optimistic that racing will go ahead as planned, but a combination of rain and the threat of an overnight frost has prompted her to announce an early check.
She said: “We are fine at the moment and are perfectly raceable, but it started raining in the last hour and the Met Office say we could get 10-15 millimetres before it clears away by about 4pm.
“They are also saying we could get a frost overnight, with temperatures hitting around minus one or minus two degrees. They should rise to a maximum of about plus five tomorrow and we should be fine.
“I am very hopeful but we’ll hold a precautionary inspection in case it gets colder or we get more rain than expected.”
