Musselburgh meet to go ahead after inspection
This afternoon's meeting at Musselburgh survived an 8.30am inspection and will go ahead as scheduled.
Officials were forced to check the track after the East Lothian venue was battered by high winds and afflicted by 15 millimetres of overnight rain.
Standing water on the stand's bend put the meeting in jeopardy but the situation had improved markedly by daylight.
Clerk of the course Anthea Morshead said: "There was a forecast for around five millimetres of rain since we called the inspection but thankfully that failed to materialise.
"It is dry now and, apart from a few spits and spots, should remain so throughout the day."
The going is good to soft, soft on both bends - with racing set to commence at 12.40pm.
