Brassil in no rush with Numbersix

Last year’s Grand National winner Numbersixvalverde is not likely to kick off his campaign for another couple of months.

Trainer Martin Brassil opted for a quieter preparation before returning his star to Aintree again in 2007, running in two hurdles and a chase before he finished sixth to Silver Birch in April.

The National is on the agenda again and Brassil said: “He probably will not run until around Christmas. It will either be a hurdle or a chase and the plan is to keep him nice and fresh like last time before heading to Aintree.”
