Dance in step for Curragh showdown
David Wachman feels Longing To Dance has a good opportunity to maintain smooth progress in the Group Three CL Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
The Danehill Dancer filly enjoyed a nice start to her career with a debut fourth at the Curragh.
Longing To Dance then supplemented that effort with a close-up second to Forthefirstime in a Listed heat over course and distance.
“She’s an improving filly and is in great form,” said Wachman.
“She was a bit green when she hit the front second time at the Curragh but continued right to the line.
“I would have been expecting a big run but there’s a bit of rain around and she ideally wants it on top.
“She’s a nice horse, though, with a big future.”
Britain is ably represented by the Mark Johnston-trained Lady Jane Digby, fifth in the May Hill, and Mick Channon’s Eva’s Request.
Indiana Gal is one of the more experienced runners in the field with three wins already to her name.
Her trainer, Pat Martin, said: “She’s a lovely filly and if we can get a place we will be thrilled.
“We’ve put cheekpieces on her to make her travel a bit better and if there’s more rain, the better she will be.
“We could do with it being a real test as she’s probably a mile horse, rather than a seven-furlong horse.
“I’m hopeful of a big run.”
