Manduro remains “under observation” after suffering an injury when winning at Longchamp yesterday.

The Andre Fabre-trained five-year-old – the highest-rated horse in the world - ran out a two-and-a-half-length winner of the Prix Foy on his first try at 12 furlongs.

Fabre later confirmed Manduro had finished lame behind, although the exact nature of his injury has yet to be revealed.

Paul Harley, racing manager to owner Baron Georg Von Ullman, said: “He’s under observation and the vets are looking at further X-rays. A statement will be made in due course.”

Manduro is unbeaten in five starts this term and already has three Group One victories to his credit, including the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and Prix Jacques le Marois.
