Turner drafted into GB squad
Hayley Turner will replace the suspended Seb Sanders in the Great Britain team for the Shergar Cup at Ascot on Saturday.
The leading female jockey steps in for Sanders, who has to sit out Saturday and Sunday after losing his appeal to the British Horseracing Authority against a two-day ban for careless riding on Lake Poet at Goodwood.
It was the first time Sanders, who has had his £500 (€738) deposit refunded, has lodged an appeal in a 17-year career.
Turner, who was a member of last year’s successful Great Britain and Ireland team, joins captain Martin Dwyer and Kevin Darley.
They face opposition from Ireland, Europe and the Rest of the World.
