Soldier Of Fortune is set to bypass the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
Aidan O’Brien’s emphatic Irish Derby winner is instead likely to be primed for an autumn campaign.
“It’s looking like we will run the two older horses, Dylan Thomas and Scorpion,” O’Brien told the Racing Post.
“We’re going to wait with Soldier Of Fortune – he’s on a short break.
“We’re looking at possible targets later in the season, including the St Leger and Arc.”
